Adult Education at First Pres

New Classes begins January 22 at 11 a.m.

The Letter to the Hebrews: Understanding and Reclaiming the Jewishness of our faith in Jesus. Room 213. Taught by John Mauck, this class will meet in person  and on Zoom from January 22 through March 19.

For our study of Hebrews, please read these passages: Hebrews 1:1-3 and 10-12; John 1:1-3 and 10-14; Genesis 1:1-3. If you have the Science Channel on cable, watch “How the Universe was made” Season 1, Episode 1: “The Big Bang,” and Season 7, Episode 7: “How Dark Energy is Holding our Universe Together.”

We will also consider to whom Hebrews is written (Rom. 9:6, Ex. 9:16, and our vocabulary: Jesus, church, Christ). We will use Copernicus and the Jews and The Messianic writings: A New Testament Translation, both by Dan Gruber. The books are available at the front desk, for $20 each, or they can be found on Amazon.
