Children

We’re in this Together!

Ministering to the Spiritual Growth of our Children AND FAMILIES

We believe in providing families the resources needed to raise children in the knowledge of who Jesus Christ is, that God expresses love for all of us through Jesus, and that the Holy Spirit is always there for them, helping them live their very best lives.

Join Us in Worship!

We invite you to join us in-person in the Sanctuary! All children are welcome to participate in worship, and we strive to create a welcoming environment for families.

  • Comfortable Seating: Rocking chairs are available in the back for parents and little ones.
  • Engagement Space: Our Children’s corner has ample space for coloring and reading.
  • Family Lounge: In the back of the sanctuary there is a Family Lounge is available for nursing, changing diapers, or enjoying quiet time.

Kids’ Corner (Back of the Sanctuary)

The Kids Corner is available during worship to help children engage in age-appropriate, quiet, and meaningful activities. Children will find books for all ages, quiet books, sensory toys, clipboards with coloring pages, and floor puzzles.
Please note: If staff or volunteers are not present in the Kids’ Corner, parents must stay with and supervise their children.
We also ask that all items are returned to their proper place after use, so the space stays organized and ready for others.

Children/Student Classes

Nursery:

The Nursery is open every Sunday from 10:15 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. for children aged 0-2, providing a safe and nurturing environment. Our tailored lessons engage little ones with relatable characters and fun stories that teach important values like sharing and caring. Each session includes a delightful craft and a nutritious snack to keep our young learners happy and energized!

Children’s Moment (During Worship Service)

Kids in grades K–4 are invited forward during the worship service for a special Children’s Moment. Children are called up by their special song and take part in a short blessing, kids’ announcements, and helping to pass the peace.
After the Children’s Moment, children are invited to Children’s Worship in the Blue Room for a catered, age-appropriate lesson and activities (learn more below).
On Communion Sundays, children still participate in Children’s Worship but are then reintroduced into the service so they can take communion with their families or observe with them in the sanctuary.
Sunday School:
Before the worship service begins at 9:15 AM, children are invited to the library for supervised free time, which includes light snacks, quiet reading, a simple art reflection activity, and music practice.
Parents are welcome to drop children off so they can attend the adult education hour and pick them up before the worship service begins.
At the start of the service, children join their families in the sanctuary and may use the Kids Corner if needed. After the Children’s Moment, children are invited to Children’s Worship for a Bible lesson and activities.
Children’s Worship:

After the Children’s Moment teachers provide a nurturing environment where kids can explore biblical teachings, express their faith, and build a strong sense of community, laying a foundation for their spiritual growth.

Lesson: The session begins with a video presentation, followed by reading a passage from the story Bible to deepen understanding of the message.

Prayer Time: This is a special moment for children to share their prayer requests and express gratitude, fostering their spiritual growth and sense of community.

Activities and Crafts: Children engage in crafts and games that relate to the lesson, making learning both fun and interactive while reinforcing key concepts.

Snack: Allergen-friendly snacks and water are provided to ensure that every child can enjoy a safe and refreshing treat.

Departure: At the conclusion of the service, parents are invited to pick up their children from the Blue Room. To ensure safety, parents must sign out their kids before departure. Teachers will also share highlights from the class, keeping parents informed about their child’s experiences.

Faith Beyond Sunday

Faith doesn’t stop when worship ends. We’ve created a Christian Kids Music Playlist filled with joyful, faith-based songs for movement, play, and everyday family life.

After the children’s moment (towards the beginning of the 10:30 am worship service) children are invited to the Blue Room for Children’s Worship, led by Children’s Director Abigail Cunningham. Children’s Worship includes a lesson, snack, craft, and music.

There is no Children’s Sunday School during the Sunday School hour (beginning at 9:15 am directly before the worship service), but there is supervised free time for children in the library during this time. Parents may drop children off in the library in order to attend their own Sunday School class and pick children up before the service begins.

Absolutely! We warmly welcome children to the 10:30 a.m. worship service.

In addition to the Kids Corner, families can also find a comfortable area for nursing moms across from the Sanctuary. While this space does not have a TV displaying the service, it offers a serene environment for caring for your child while remaining connected to our church community. Families are also encouraged to find spots in the Sanctuary to enjoy the service together.

We work to strike a balance between “over programming” our children and families while still working to equip children and parents with valuable Biblical lessons and fellowship opportunities.

Our regular events include:

  • Monthly Young Family Small Group
  • Lenten Family Devotionals
  • Easter Sunday Fellowship Gathering
  • Vacation Bible School
  • All-Church End-of-Summer Picnic
  • Children’s Book Celebrations
  • Advent Family Devotionals
  • Gingerbread House Decorating Party
  • Nativity Christmas Pageant (during Sunday worship)
  • Christmas Eve Family Worship Service

(Subject to change)

Below are some sample projects the children have worked on recently:

Bee Drinking Fountains – Our inspiration stemmed from the timeless Bible story of Rebekah and Isaac.

Communion Coloring Craft – We took the time to reflect on the profound significance of communion.

Kindness Rock Garden – Inspired by the teachings of Genesis 1, where it is written that God created all things and saw that they were good.
