Overview: The Prayer Companion Volunteer assists First Presbyterian Evanston in accomplishing its mission: To know Christ and to grow in him as we serve and make disciples in Evanston, the Chicago area, and the world. The person in this position ensures that members and friends of FPCE desiring personal prayer after a worship service are caringly listened to and prayed for.

Responsibilities:

  • Attend worship services regularly.
  • Pray with/for individuals desiring prayer following the worship service.

Relationships, Team Composition:

The Prayer Companion Volunteer reports to Community Life and Pastoral Care leaders and is part of a team of 16 prayer companion volunteers.

Time Commitment: 15 Minutes per Month

  • Prayer Companion Volunteers serve one time per month on a rotation.

Special Talents, Skills Preferred: Faith, compassion, empathy, good listening skills, desire to pray.

Resources, Training Provided: Training and mentorship from experienced prayer companion volunteers.
