First Pres Hires new Children’s Ministry Director

First Presbyterian Church of Evanston has hired a new director of children’s ministry, effective immediately. The First Pres Our Church Our Families Council unanimously recommended the hiring of Abigail Cunningham to the Personnel Ministry Council, which unanimously approved her employment last month. Abigail’s first day was Tuesday, August 13.

About Abigail Cunningham

Abby is a native of Deerfield, IL, and a graduate of Hope College in Holland, MI, with a degree in Classical Studies. She was baptized and confirmed at First Presbyterian Church of Deerfield where she served in children’s ministry and is currently a member. She worked in corporate market research after graduation. Abby played field hockey in high school.

Abby is an avid sewer (her “classic” sewing machine is a prized possession). She is currently raising 13 plants including a 6-year-old Monstera plant. An official “meet-and-greet” with Abby will take place on Sunday, September 8, as part of our fall kickoff celebration.
