Overview: The Build Congo School Necklace Team Member assists First Presbyterian Evanston in accomplishing its mission: To know Christ and to grow in him as we serve and make disciples in Evanston, the Chicago area, and the world. The person in this position helps to raise money for education in Congo by making crocheted necklaces.

Responsibilities:

  • Simple pattern for crocheted necklaces has been learned from the leader.
  • Necklaces have been crocheted with provided yarn for the Build Congo School program.
  • Quantity of necklaces as the volunteer is able.

Relationships, Team Composition:

The Build Congo School Necklace Team Member reports to the Build Congo School Necklace Leader and is part of a 25-person team.

Time Commitment: As many hours per month as volunteer is able to help

  • Each necklace takes about an hour to make, depending on skill level.

Special Talents, Skills Preferred: Experienced crocheter, enjoys craft work, willingness to learn, ability to work independently, desire to help education in the Congo.

Resources, Training Provided: Personalized training on making the necklace from the leader. Yarn provided.
