AWARENESS & ACTION ON IMMGRATION
Angela Muganwa, Program Manager for Community Integration at Heartland Human Care Services (HHCS) and founder of the Community Network for Orphans in Uganda. With extensive experience in refugee resettlement and community support, Angela plays a pivotal role in addressing the ongoing immigration crisis in the Greater Chicago area. HHCS is working under the mission of “empowering refugees one job at a time.”
On March 16, she will provide an in-depth analysis of the current immigration landscape, discussing the effects of new policies, funding cuts, and the challenges faced by refugees.
On March 30, Angela will lead a training session to equip participants with practical ways to take action. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage in meaningful initiatives, including community outreach efforts, a business attire and shoe drive, and other volunteer opportunities. Inspired by the biblical story of Ruth and Naomi, some outreach activities will be conducted in pairs to foster deeper connections and support for those in need.
Additionally, we will dedicate time to prayer and spiritual support We encourage all members of our congregation to attend and take part in this opportunity to make a tangible impact in the lives of refugees in our community.
