Overview: The Build Congo Schools Serving Group Member assists First Presbyterian Evanston in accomplishing its mission: To know Christ and to grow in him as we serve and make disciples in Evanston, the Chicago area, and the world. The person in this position assists with the mission to Congo through prayer and planning.
Responsibilities:
- Prayers have been offered for the DR Congo and partners serving there each week.
- Focus Group meetings have been attended monthly.
- Annual events and national network meetings have been attended as possible.
Relationships, Team Composition:
The Build Congo Schools Serving Group Member reports to the Director of Mission and is part of a 10-person team.
Time Commitment: 2 – 3 Hours per Month
Special Talents, Skills Preferred: Passion for justice, heart for the poor and marginalized, interest in Africa, concern for women’s issues and education, wisdom, discernment.
Resources, Training Provided: Personalized orientations, suggested readings.
