Overview: The Chancel Choir Member assists First Presbyterian Evanston in accomplishing its mission: To know Christ and to grow in him as we serve and make disciples in Evanston, the Chicago area, and the world. The person in this position helps to provide a meaningful worship experience through choral music offerings for worship services.
Responsibilities:
- Weekly choir rehearsals have been attended.
- Individual parts have been learned and practiced outside of rehearsal as necessary.
- Participation in the worship service has occurred.
Relationships, Team Composition:
The Chancel Choir Member reports to the Director of Worship and Music and is part of a 16-member chancel choir.
Time Commitment: 4 Hours per Week
- Includes rehearsal and the worship service.
Special Talents, Skills Preferred: Desire to lead the congregation in worship through singing, ability to read music, ability to match pitches and sing in tune, desire to be part of an ensemble, willingness to learn.
Resources, Training Provided: The Director of Music and Worship will provide instruction and assistance, including audio tracks for the learning of individual parts.
