Overview: The Community Engagement and Outreach Volunteer assists First Presbyterian Evanston in accomplishing its mission: To know Christ and to grow in him as we serve and make disciples in Evanston, the Chicago area, and the world. The person in this position ensures that FPCE is welcoming and engaging with people outside of the church walls.
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate community outreach through social media postings and updates each day.
- Welcome FPCE visitors and connect them with resources and invitations.
- Develop a calendar for community involvement each quarter highlighting events and opportunities that may attract visitors.
- Participate in engagement and outreach planning to discuss projects and deliverables.
Relationships, Team Composition:
The Community Engagement and Outreach Volunteer reports to Community Life leaders and is part of a team of 8 Community Engagement and Outreach Volunteers.
Time Commitment: 3-6 Hours per month
Special Talents, Skills Preferred: Highly relational, strong people skills, ability to connect with all types of personalities, desire to research and network, passion for servant evangelism and community ministry, desire to start new programs, marketing, communication skills, social media experience.
Resources, Training Provided: Organic Outreach class, guidance from experienced Community Engagement and Outreach Volunteers.
