Overview: The Knitting/Crocheting Volunteer assists First Presbyterian Evanston in accomplishing its mission: To know Christ and to grow in him as we serve and make disciples in Evanston, the Chicago area, and the world. The person in this position uses their knitting or crocheting skills to bless and support individuals and missions in the FPCE church family.
Responsibilities:
- Knit or crochet prayer shawls for FPCE members or attendees who are in the hospital or recovering from a surgery or illness.
- Knit or crochet scarves have been to raise funds for the Build Congo Schools ministry.
- Meet with other knitting and crocheting volunteers twice a month to work together if desired.
Relationships, Team Composition:
The Knitting/Crocheting Volunteer reports to the Community Life and Pastoral Care Council and is part of a team with 25 knitting and crocheting volunteers.
Time Commitment: No minimum requirement. Participate individually as able.
Special Talents, Skills Preferred: Knitting, crocheting, compassion.
Resources, Training Provided: Guidance from experienced knitting/crocheting volunteers, help provided as needed.
