Youth

ON THE ROAD TO ADULTHOOD!

TEACHING TEENS WHAT IT MEANS TO BE SHINING LIGHTS TO THE WORLD AROUND THEM

Today’s youth have experienced life in a radically different way than previous generations, and yet our God never changes in offering everything they need to walk in faith with Jesus Christ.

At First Pres, we offer our teens meaningful, sometimes challenging  opportunities to live in faith. At the same time, we give them honest, Biblical information about what life in the church looks like so they can choose to believe (or not) from a place of informed wisdom.

First Pres youth

Our Sunday morning classes for children and youth take place after our 9:30 a.m. worship services. We divide into groups based on age and/or school grades.

K-4th Grade
5th – 8th Grade
9th – 12th Grade
High School Youth Group (grades 9-12) meets the 1st and 3rd Sunday afternoons of each month from 4-6 p.m.
Junior High Youth Group (grades 6-8) meets the 2nd and 4th Sunday afternoons of each month from 4-6 p.m.

Yes. While we do not recommend parents demand church attendance on Sunday mornings, we do suggest they encourage it. While we recognize many activities can seek to pull teenagers away on Sunday mornings, we believe setting the example of regular church attendance is vital if they are going to remain committed to their faith as adults.

Youth Group meets Sundays from 4 to 6 p.m. in the church and usually involves fun games or activities, teaching time, and prayer time. We do our best to avoid scheduling meeting when they conflict with school or other activities.
