Souper Saturday was established in 1983 as a ministry of First Presbyterian Church Evanston. Every Saturday, 80-100 guests are served a three course well prepared meal in a warm, welcoming environment. Most guests in attendance are adults and a few are children. Souper Saturday is open to the community and nearly all guests live in Evanston. Some guests are homeless, some are supplementing their resources. A variety of volunteers participate in: greeting and hosting guests, preparing and/or serving the meal, supervising kitchen and dining room activities.
