Overview: The Personnel Council Member assists First Presbyterian Evanston in accomplishing its mission: To know Christ and to grow in him as we serve and make disciples in Evanston, the Chicago area, and the world. The person in this position ensures that FPCE personnel issues are addressed faithfully for the flourishing of the whole church. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Monthly Personnel Council meetings have been attended regularly. 
  • Council emails and requests for input have been responded to weekly or as needed. 
  • Each month, the Council Member’s appointed staff member has been checked in with as a liaison, and support or guidance has been given as necessary. 
  • When needed, a special task force has been joined in order to respond to a specific issue. 

 

Relationships, Team Composition:

The Personnel Council Member reports to the Personnel Council Leader and is part of a team of 8 Personnel Council Members. 

Time Commitment: 4-10 Hours per Month

 

Special Talents, Skills Preferred: Spiritual maturity, ability to keep things in confidence, good people skills, willingness to tackle difficult issues. HR and/or business management experience helpful.
