Overview: The Instrumentalist assists First Presbyterian Evanston in accomplishing its mission: To know Christ and to grow in him as we serve and make disciples in Evanston, the Chicago area, and the world. The person in this position helps to provide a meaningful worship experience through musical offerings for worship services. 

Responsibilities:

  • Practice of the instrument has occurred leading up to Sunday services. 
  • Rehearsal has been attended before the service.  
  • Instrumental music has been provided as a means of worship. 

Relationships, Team Composition:

The Instrumentalist reports to the Director of Worship and may work alongside other instrumentalists. 

Time Commitment: 4 Hours per service

  • Includes rehearsals and the worship service

Special Talents, Skills Preferred: Musical talent, desire to share the gift of music with others in worship, willingness to serve. 

Resources, Training Provided: The Director of Music can assist in finding teachers for a wide variety of instruments as needed.
