Hosanna! Blessed is the One who comes in the name of the Lord.
Sunday, March 29
Worship at 10:30 a.m. — First Presbyterian Church of Evanston
Begin Holy Week with Us
Palm Sunday marks the beginning of Holy Week—a time when we journey with Jesus toward the cross and the promise of new life. In worship we remember the crowds who welcomed Jesus into Jerusalem with palm branches and cries of “Hosanna!” while also hearing the deeper call of discipleship as Jesus speaks about His coming glorification.
Whether you’ve been part of First Pres for years or you’re exploring faith for the first time, you are warmly invited to worship with us.
Scripture for the Day
John 12:12–27
In this powerful passage we encounter:
- Jesus entering Jerusalem as the crowds wave palms and celebrate Him as King
- The unexpected request of Greek seekers who want to see Jesus
- Jesus declaring that “the hour has come” for the Son of Man to be glorified
- The image of a grain of wheat that must fall into the earth and die to bear much fruit
- A call to follow Him in a life shaped by self‑giving love
This text invites us to hold celebration and sacrifice together—to recognize Jesus as King while also embracing the path He walks toward the cross.
