Join us for our annual First Friends Picnic as we gather with families and friends from across our community for an afternoon of food, fellowship, and fun.
Date: Sunday, September 13
Time: 3-6 p.m.
Location: Garden Park, Sheridan Square, Evanston
Whether you’ve attended before or are meeting our First Friends for the first time, we’d love for you to come and be part of this special event. Last year, nearly 100 people joined us, and we’re looking forward to another wonderful afternoon together.
Volunteer Opportunities
We need volunteers to help make the day a success:
Food Servers
Help serve food as guests move through the meal line.
Grill Team
We will have four grills running throughout the day to prepare the picnic meal. Additional volunteers are needed to help grill meat and assist with food preparation. Grill volunteers should be available to start earlier in the afternoon.
Loaders
Help load approximately 50 lawn chairs, beverage coolers, and other picnic supplies into the church van immediately after worship.
Van Driver & Unloaders
Drive the church van to the park and help unload chairs, coolers, and event supplies upon arrival.
Clean-Up Team & Return Trip
Stay through the end of the picnic to help collect trash, pack supplies, reload the van, and return equipment to the church.
