Join us for Eat, Knit, Laugh, Pray!
The mission of Knit, Eat, Laugh, Pray is multifold. Knitters make prayer shawls which are distributed as a comfort to those who are bereaved and those hospitalized. On occasion we send shawls to the White Buffalo Calf Woman Society Shelter for Women and Children in Mission, SD. One the Society’s co-founders is The Rev. Dr. Claude Marie Barbour, former Parish Associate of FPCE. Our church has a long-standing relationship with the shelter.
We do projects which help in raising funds to build Presbyterian schools in Congo. These include crocheting necklaces and knitting scarves to be sold at craft fairs. And in non-pandemic years when we have a weekly warming center for the homeless during the winter months some of our knitted scarves and hats are available for warming center visitors.
We meet from noon to 2 p.m. on the first Friday and third Saturday of the month at which time, besides working on our projects, we share lunch, prayer and laughter. You can be a part of what we do without attending meetings. Should you want to help with projects on your own, we have patterns and yarn available – no charge.
We meet in Room 206 where the shelves on one wall hold yarn for projects. On shelves on the opposite wall you can see our finished work. We would love for you to join us at our meetings or
if you prefer, knit on your own.
