The First Pres Book Club’s next selection is One Came Home, by FPCE member Amy Timberlake. The group will meet to discuss it on Tuesday, February 17, from 1:30-3 p.m. in Room 102.

Set in 1871 Wisconsin, One Came Home follows 13-year-old Georgie Burkhardt’s quest to find her sister, Agatha, who is presumed dead after a body wearing her dress is found. Georgie uses her gifts of sharpshooting, keen problem solving and determination to uncover the truth. Getting there is an adventure filled with self-discovery, hardship, and danger.

Published in 2014, it was recognized as A Newbery Honor Book, an ALA-ALSC Notable Children’s Book, and was winner of the Edgar Allan Poe Award for Best Juvenile Novel.
