While COVID has kept our Deacons’ Closet closed for most of this year, the need has not gone away, especially now as Winter weather is beginning to blow in. First Pres is still not able to accept clothing donations at the church.
Instead, the Deacons are strongly urging people to search their closets and bring their gently used WINTER clothes and other household items to drop-off locations for Connections for the Homeless in Evanston, Please click this link:

to find out what sorts of in-kind donations Connections is (and is NOT) accepting.
Donations can also go directly to nearby Hilda’s Place (Lake St. Church) on days specified or to Connections’ main office at 2121 Dewey St., where curbside drop-offs can be arranged. Director Hail Khalaf can be reached at either

or #847-475-7070×217.
This is a dangerous time of year for the many around us who are in need of life’s basic comforts and protections, so, please, search your hearts and closets and do “clothe the naked” this winter.
