First Presbyterian Missions
Our vision is to empower and equip every member of FPCE to be Christ’s witnesses locally and globally. We do this by engaging with our partners; focusing on relational and cross-cultural outreach ministries in areas of disparities with vulnerable people groups (locally and internationally); focusing our funds on those serving in full time ministry, mainly in unreached areas; and providing education that is relevant and equipping in nature.
MISSION PRAYER

September 30th, 2025
First Friends is a ministry to friends who have come to the US as legal refugees and make their way to citizenship. Currently most of our families come from Syria, though that isn’t a requirement. We do focus on the Arabic speaking world. Most participants come from a Muslim background. Please pray for the kickoff of our First Friends fall women’s breakfast club on October 4. We have not met since May and so are praying that we have not lost any momentum since then.
Please pray:
- For our sisters that they experience the love, hope, and peace of Christ at every monthly meeting.
- That they see God at work in their own lives, particularly as they pray for specific issues they are facing.
- That they participate in the goings on and that they understand any speakers that participate.
- That the translation is clear and correct, especially concerning Jesus’ love for them.
- For God’s Spirit to be free and active in the meetings, in the homes of all our guests, and all our volunteers.
- That nothing keeps the women from attending including sickness, care for children, tiredness, or other things.
- For Bridgette Gilchrist who leads this ministry. Pray for vision, health, time, and joy as she leads the volunteers and is Jesus’ ambassador to so many of the Syrian women.
May the God of hope fill [us] with all joy and peace as [we] trust in him, so that [we all] may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Amen
