First Presbyterian Missions

Our vision is to empower and equip every member of FPCE to be Christ’s witnesses locally and globally. We do this by engaging with our partners; focusing on relational and cross-cultural outreach ministries in areas of disparities with vulnerable people groups (locally and internationally); focusing our funds on those serving in full time ministry, mainly in unreached areas; and providing education that is relevant and equipping in nature.

MISSION PRAYER

July 28th, 2025

Praise:

  • We give praise to the Lord for the wonderful leadership of Barb Spencer and Kris Economos of Souper Saturday. May God continue to guide and strengthen them.
  • We praise God for the commitment and servant hearts of all our Souper Saturday volunteers who give their time each week with love and compassion.
  • With gratitude, we lift up Linda Rosenberg, who faithfully serves at the front desk, and Juan Rios and the building crew, whose support enables us to welcome guests indoors.
  • We thank God for the opportunity to open our doors in a new way, even amidst limitations, and trust that God will work through every effort made.

Prayer:

  • Lord, we humbly ask for wisdom, peace, and joy for Barb and Kris as they lead Souper Saturday. May their leadership reflect your heart.
  • We pray that this return to serving meals indoors would be filled with your presence, bringing comfort, dignity, and warmth to all who come.
  • We seek your grace as we face space limitations. Help our guests to understand, and may those in deepest need be given room. May your peace rest upon all.
  • We ask for an abundance of willing volunteers to:
    • Help host guests indoors with kindness and care,
    • Continue serving meals to-go for those outside,
    • And assist in delivering meals to our neighbors at the Margarita Inn.

Blessing:

  • Lord, we pray your richest blessing over this beautiful group of individuals who serve with open hearts every Saturday throughout the year.
  • May You renew their strength, fill them with joy, and let them feel the deep impact of their love in action.
