First Presbyterian Missions
Our vision is to empower and equip every member of FPCE to be Christ’s witnesses locally and globally. We do this by engaging with our partners; focusing on relational and cross-cultural outreach ministries in areas of disparities with vulnerable people groups (locally and internationally); focusing our funds on those serving in full time ministry, mainly in unreached areas; and providing education that is relevant and equipping in nature.
MISSION PRAYER

October 21st , 2025
Please pray for our Mission Partner Valentyn Syniy, President of Tavriski Christian
Institute (TCI) in Ukraine. Though they have reestablished TCI in Kyiv and have opened at their library, he and his wife Luba are very tired. They have been “praying and fasting for joy in ministry to return”. Valentyn rarely shares this type of prayer request.
Therefore, please join Valentyn and Luba in praying and fasting for them:
- For rest and deep, good sleep at night – despite the frequent drone and missile attacks.
- For God to surround Valentyn and Luba with people who will encourage them and help them see all that God is doing through them in ministry.
- For an end to the war in Ukraine with Russia returning “occupied territories”.
- For a good response to Valentyn’s book, “Serving God Under Siege”, that was just released here in the U.S., detailing his experience of the start of the war through that first “phase”.
- For provision of funding to completely purchase the building being rented now by TCI.
- That God will fill them with joy in their spirit, in their home, with their family, and in ministry in all those forms.
Consider fasting a day every week, to join Valentyn and Luba in solidarity, praying for joy to return to them in ministry. Psalm 126, used last week to express joy over the return of the captives, may also be used as a prayer for Valentyn and Luba:
Psalm 126:4-6, NLT
“Restore our fortunes, Lord, as streams renew the desert. Those who plant in tears will harvest with shouts of joy. They weep as they go to plant their seed, but they sing as they return with the harvest.”
God hear our prayers for Valentyn and Luba. Renew their joy “as streams renew the desert”. May they soon be singing with joy as they see your “harvest”.
