The Interim Senior Pastor/Transition Team has been meeting regularly over the past several weeks. Here’s the latest:
As was mentioned in an earlier update, our Ministry Information Form (MIF) was approved by the Chicago Presbytery and placed on the Church Leadership Connection (CLC). After it was posted, we received over 20 Personal Information Forms (PIFs), which are clergy resumes in our denomination. These PIFs are strictly from people who are trained in serving as interim pastors during times of transition. The Transition Team has reviewed these forms, narrowed them down, and spent some time checking out church links and listening to sermons given by these individuals. At this point, we are now beginning to set up Zoom interviews with several pastors who seem to fit the proper qualifications. We have created a list of questions which will guide us through the interview process.
We thank Pastor Amanda for preaching and leading worship during the past couple of weeks and it was great to hear from our youth as well! Over the coming weeks, various guest pastors will be preaching until such a time that the Interim Senior Pastor is called and in place.
We will keep you posted on further actions and ask that you continue to pray for this process. If you have questions, please feel free to seek out any of the Transition Team members: Laurie Kaeser, Chair; Richard Bell; Jerry Gabrielse; LeRoy Klemt; Suzanne Sawada.
